The motto at the 2014 Kelley Sales and Service Million Dollar Shootout is;
as many of the forty participants will attest. In all, just under $1000 in cash and $1500 in gift certificates were awarded to ecstatic golfers. Among them was Jacob Vire, the Shootout individual winner, who came five feet away from winning One Million Dollars!
Easily the most unique format the Upper Valley has ever witnessed, The Shootout calls for Crown Point CC to be played as a par 3, straight scramble, with all of the tee boxes between 165 and 225 yards. Every hole has a ‘Closest to the Pin’ prize between $50 and $300 and every hole has a ‘Hole in One’ prize worth at least $5000!
“It really was a great day” claimed novice golfer Michelle Jasinski. “Everyone seemed relaxed and ready to have fun…and of course…win some $$$! I really hope you have it again next year!”
There’s a team prize for the top two teams (low gross) but the most interesting portion of the format is the individual ‘Shootout’ winner competition immediately following. The 18 CTP winners had a ‘Shootout’ to determine the top five finalists. Those five golfers then had a ‘Shootout’ to determine the individual winner. Had any or all of the finalists ‘Aced’ the hole it was worth ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
There are literally over 50 opportunities to win big at the ‘Shootout’ and that’s what makes it exciting. And the best part is it only takes one good shot to be in the money. Two good shots and you’re a finalist – Three good shots and WIN!
